3.10 Networking the Computing Unit and other Computers via
Industrial Ethernet
Networking the computing unit via Industrial Ethernet
Industrial Ethernet is an industry standard bus system based on ETHERNET
(ISO 8802/3). The main features of Industrial Ethernet are:
speed (10 Mbps), simple expansion, open communications and widespread
application.
How the network functions
Industrial Ethernet is the generic name of networks and network components
operating according to the CSMA/CD (ETHERNET) principle. Industrial Ethernet is
a network having a bus structure, data transmission being performed with a triaxial
cable (H1).

3.11 Connection under Windows
Windows supports point-to-point connection via the LPT or COM. The connecting
cables are standard, commercially available connecting cables. Refer to the
