MAC Address of the Client

To allow the device connected to the client to be available over the wireless net-

work, the client must adopt the MAC address of this device. This can be done

automatically by the client adopting the MAC address of the first frame that it re-

ceives over the Ethernet interface. If this is required, Auto find Adopt MAC must be

selected. If this is not selected or no selection is possible, Lee MAC address of the

device connected to the client over Ethernet must be entered in the Adopt MAC

text box.

Shortened Preamble with 802.11b

The 802.11b standard allows the use of shortened preambles in the wireless

transmission of data packets. This increases the amount of user data.

Note

If you are using the CP 1515 and CP 7515 communications processors in one

wireless cell at the same time, the shortened preamble should not be used other-

wise the CP 1515 can only handle a significantly reduced amount of data traffic

when there is heavy load on the network.

Assigns a network name (SSID). Available only in the ac-

cess point mode.

mode [A|B|G|T|X]

Selects the transmission standard:

A 802.11a

B 802.11b

G 802.11g

T 802.11a Turbo

X 802.11g Turbo

Depending on the country

code, some settings are

not possible and will then

be rejected.

802.11a Turbo cannot be

set in all countries.

autoch [E|D]

Enable / disable the channel selec-

tion by the SCALANCE W744.

Available only in the ac-

cess point mode.

channel [1...13]

Specifies the wireless channel.

adopt [MAC address]

MAC address of the device con-

nected to the client over Ethernet.

Available only in the client

mode.

autoadopt [E|D]

Automatic adoption of the MAC ad-

dress of the device connected to the

client over Ethernet. Note: This

function is available only in con-

junction with S7 devices.

Available only in the client

mode.

adhoc [E|D]

Select ad hoc or infrastructure

mode.

Available only in the client

mode.
