8.1 Data for the PROFIBUS-DP

Device master file

A DDB file contains all the slave-specific properties. The structure of the DDB file

is defined in IEC 61784-1:2002 Ed1 CP 3/1.

You only need the DDB file if:

 You are using the ET 200S with a DP master from the SIMATIC S5 range

(configuration with COM PROFIBUS)

 You are using the ET 200S with a non-SIMATIC DP master (configuration with a

non-Siemens tool).

You can download the DDB file from the Internet. You will find all the DDB files

under ”Downloads” on the SIMATIC Customer Support web site:

http://www.ad.siemens.de/csi/gsd
