a) Red Button Test

You have up to 30 seconds in which to press the button or the test will fail.

b) Yellow button test
The ‘yellow button test’ allows you to test the ‘urgent call’ button, without actually making a
call.

You have up to 30 seconds in which to press the button or the test will fail.

Once you have chosen the ‘red button test’, the
display changes to show that the test may begin
and you are asked to press the ‘Emergency’
button.
If the cab radio detects that the ‘railway-
emergency group voice call’ button has been
pressed, the display will change to ask you to
release it. If not, a failure message will be
displayed.
Once you have chosen the ‘yellow button test’,
the cab radio display will show that the test may
begin and you are asked to press the ‘urgent
priority’ call button.
If the cab radio detects that the ‘urgent priority’
call button has been pressed, the display will
ask you to release the button.
If the radio detects that the railway emergency
group call button has been successfully
released, it will produce a suitable message. If
not it will display a failure message
