Tape
Specifies a tape drive configured for a system.
All tape drives are displayed under the Tape Collection object, whether they are attached through
Fibre Channel ServerNet adapters in IOAM enclosures or through legacy NonStop S-series IOAM2
enclosures.
Location in OSM Tree: System > Tape Collection > Tape Drive

NonStop S-Series
• Most NonStop S-series tape drives can be connected physically through a cable connected
to the MFC SCSI port on the IOMF CRU or a SCSI SAC (available on a ServerNet/DA CRU
or an IOMF2 CRU).
• The CT9840/CT9840FC/CT9841FC cartridge tape drives must be connected to a SCSI SAC
on either a ServerNet/DA CRU or an IOMF2 CRU.
NonStop NS-Series
• Fibre Channel tape drives are connected to Fibre Channel ServerNet adapters in IOAM
enclosures.
• SCSI tape drives can be connected to Fibre Channel ServerNet adapters through a Fibre
Channel Router (one or two drives per router). Once configured, the Fiber Channel Router
object is displayed in the OSM tree pane under the Monitored Service LAN Devices object.

Tape Drive
Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if the value is
something other than OK. Values
Service State
Logical
The accessibility of the tape drive through the tape process.
Values: Up, Down, Hard Down
Device State
Displayed only if the system is licensed for NonStop Volume Level Encryption,
this attribute indicates whether or not the CLIM to which the tape drive is
attached has NonStop Volume Level Encryption enabled.
Encryption State
The number assigned to the drive by the file system.Logical Device Number
The tape drive product identification.Product ID
The type of tape drive. Values.Tape Type
The version of the firmware (where applicable).Firmware Version
This attribute is displayed only for certain tape drives to indicate the presence
of a cartridge loader. For some newer tapes drives equipped with cartridge
Cartridge Loader
loaders, the attribute does not appear, but the Tape Type attribute value
indicates that the drive is equipped with an ACL.
