Upon clicking the Check connectivity to all Key Managers button, the guided procedure checks the

connectivity by attempting to log on to each Key Manager. The connectivity status for each Key

Manager is reported in the column to the left of its IP address with a green check mark (for success)

or a red "X" (for failure). Also, as each connection attempt is made, a running count of the passes

and failures is reported in the Progress section of the dialog box.

The Continue button remains inactive until all Key Managers have been checked for connectivity

and at least one Key Manager has been successfully connected to. If no Key Managers pass the

connectivity check, an error message is displayed.

WARNING! You should troubleshoot Key Managers with failed connections and, upon correcting

the problem, click Check connectivity to all Key Managers again. You can continue the procedure

using the Key Managers that did pass the check; however, the registered CLIMs would not be able

to take advantage of the additional load-balancing or failover provided by the Key Managers that

failed the connectivity check. In particular, continuing the procedure if only one Key Manager

passes the connectivity test is not advised; that lone Key Manager would constitute a potential

single point of failure for the NonStop system.

Removing a nonresponsive Key Manager from a cluster is done only by an administrator through

the Key Manager interface, although that action is not required for the purposes of this procedure.

When you are satisfied with the configuration information, click Continue to go proceed to the

next step of the guided procedure: Creating CLIM Group, Username, and Password

Upon clicking Continue in the Encryption Key Manager Cluster Configuration Information dialog

box, the Create CLIM Client Username and Password dialog box is displayed. This step of the

procedure creates a CLIM group, username, and password on the Key Manager for all selected

CLIMs.
