15.6.1 Cable Assemblies
A cable assembly consists of a cable with one or two 12-way terminal blocks on one
end and a plug for connection to an Expansion I/O Board, SDE/SA Board or Main
Processor Board at the other.
The following types of cable assembly are normally used:
a) One terminal block and a plug for a single 8-input only port (two
buffered, six not) into PLE of the Main Processor Board.
b) Two terminal blocks and plugs for a 16-input only port (two buffered,
fourteen not) into PLE of the Main Processor Board.
c) A terminal block at one end and discrete Berg pins at the other for
inserting into the Main Processor Board Output port (PLC - 4 reed
relay outputs).
d) Two terminal blocks and plugs for connection to Expansion I/O Boards
or SDE/SA Boards.
There is a short and long version of each type of cable assembly to allow for the
different positions of the terminal blocks.
15.6.2 Extended System Bus
A ribbon cable is used to interconnect the Main Processor Board and the Expansion
I/O Boards and/or SDE/SA PCB via the Extended System Bus connectors.
